💊 Ordering Repeat Prescriptions
The easiest way to order your repeat prescriptions is through the GP online system – Patient Access.
Your online account allows you to:
-

-
Select the items you need to reorder quickly and securely
You can also request repeat prescriptions by:
-
Calling the repeat prescription line on 0141 531 8180 — available at any time
-
Handing in your repeat prescription slip at the surgery between 08:30am–12:30pm and 1:30pm–6:00pm
-
Posting your request to us, including a stamped addressed envelope if you would like it returned by mail
📍 Practice Preference – Nominate Your Pharmacy
We encourage all patients to nominate a local pharmacy where their prescriptions can be sent.
This means your medication can be collected directly from your chosen pharmacy, reducing the need to visit the practice and helping us manage prescriptions more efficiently.
If you haven’t yet nominated a pharmacy, please let our reception team know and they’ll update your record.
📧 Please note: We do not accept repeat prescription requests by email.
Collecting your prescription
🕒 Collecting Your Prescription
You can usually collect your prescription from your nominated pharmacy within 3 to 5 working days after placing your order.
To make this process easier, you’ll need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescriptions from — this is called “nominating a pharmacy.”
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
-
Through the app or website you use to order your repeat prescriptions
-
By speaking to our reception team at the practice
-
Or directly at your chosen pharmacy
Having a nominated pharmacy helps ensure your prescriptions are ready and waiting for you — and reduces the need to visit the surgery unnecessarily.

Medication Reviews
🔁 Repeat Prescription Reviews
If you have a repeat prescription, we may occasionally ask you to attend a medication review.
This helps us make sure your medicines remain safe, effective, and appropriate for your ongoing care.
We’ll contact you when it’s time for your review and arrange a convenient appointment with a GP, nurse, or pharmacist.
You don’t need to wait for us to get in touch — if you feel your medication needs to be reviewed, or you have any concerns about your treatment, please contact the practice and we’ll be happy to arrange a review for you.
These reviews are a routine part of your care and help us ensure you continue to receive the best possible treatment.
What do I Do With Old or Unused Medication?
♻️ Disposing of Unused or Expired Medicines
If you have unused or expired medicines, please return them to your pharmacy or bring them into the surgery for safe disposal.
⚠️ Do not throw medicines in your household bin or flush them down the toilet. This helps protect the environment and ensures medicines are disposed of safely.
About pharmacists
💊 Your Local Pharmacy Can Help
Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can provide expert advice and treatment for many minor illnesses, including:
-
Coughs and colds
-
Sore throats
-
Tummy upsets
-
Aches and pains
They can also advise on medicines available without a prescription and help you choose the right treatment.
You can find your nearest pharmacy using the NHS 24 – Find a Pharmacy tool.
Many pharmacies are open late and at weekends, and you don’t need an appointment to speak with a pharmacist.
Most also have a private consultation room, where you can discuss any concerns confidentially and without being overheard.
